FAQs

What is BuySellBandwidth?
BuySellBandwidth.com is a group buying service for high-capacity bandwidth around the world. We cater to customers that require anywhere from 2Mbps to 10Gbps.
Who are your customers and users?
We serve enterprise customers, governments, ISPs and small/medium carriers around the world. We buy from large carriers, submarine cable operators and wholesale carriers or carrier's carriers.
How does "Name your price" work in the bandwidth business?
Telecom services has always been a scale-friendly market. The top tier companies always get the best rates because they can buy in bulk. We are bringing the same advantage to enterprise customers, ISPs and small/medium carriers. By bringing multiple deals to carriers, we are able to lower the cost and try to meet your price points more than anyone else. As long as you are a serious buyer and want to cut a deal, we can help you. We ask that you be aggressive but realistic in your requirements.
What is the process?
We will pool all the deals in similar markets and bring them to the providers that have the lowest cost advantage to provide a group discount. Since we know at what price you are willing to buy, we will try and meet your price point. We also keep tabs on which carriers are desperate to make deals at what times so as to get the best deals for our customers.
How do you make money?
We are paid by the large carriers to bring bulk group deals to them.
Why now? What has changed in the marketplace?
The submarine cable industry has gone through major changes in the last few years with carriers being forced to buy on a distance times bandwidth basis on a multi-country destination cable. This means that on certain cables, a third country can sell bandwidth between other two countries from their bandwidth pool which if unused, is losing money every day sitting on the shelf. These third-countries (10 of them on a 12-country cable) have every motivation to use up their allocated bandwidth for the entire term whether by selling IRUs or on a lease basis. In addition, new players like Google have come up with their own business deals which essentially force the market to flood bandwidth on certain routes. These rates are only available to the insiders or people with scale power to buy in bulk.
